I hate trying to upload videos

Okay so the title says it all. The reason there hasn't been a post lately is because I'm really annoyed with blogger right now and having no luck posting videos. I have a few that are really cute but they take forever to upload and then after a few hours of it trying to upload it says it can't or it just freezes so I have been consumed with trying to do that and being unsuccessful. I have great pics of Thanksgiving and when I have a few hours to kill...ha ha ha....I will get those up. Sorry!

Decorating for Christmas

This is the book that my dad starting reading to me on my first christmas. It has been dated every year since then and we haven't missed one yet!

I think I need a few more Santas.



Our new front room...only thing missing is the stockings and they will be put up today.

Sunday, despite the HOT weather, the Christmas decorations exploded all over my house...maybe it was the heat? Anyway, we got everthing up and looking nice as we anticipate our favorite time of year! I really don't know if I'll ever grow out of wanting presents....I know I should be all about giving, but getting is just so much fun too! If you don't believe me check my amazon wish list...I've actually paired it down recently so it's only 3 pages now instead of 5! :) Enjoy pictures of our home.

Christmas in July

Is Christmas really getting close? I have yet to wear a coat, see my breath outside, get chill bumps, or turn on the heater. What is going on with the weather? I don't know about the weather where you are, but down here in the Hill Country we are having record heat....really. I have been watching the news every night and we are tying or coming in 1-2 degrees under the all time record heat for this area. Yesterday, I did 99% of my Christmas shopping and I was in a T-shirt and capris and was sweating! It got up to about 85 degrees and the day before that I believe it was 87. This is such a bummer of a fall/winter. I think we are expecting a cool down tomorrow and then hot again and then a bit of a cool down again. It has just been very up and down(barely) for weeks. I want to decorate for Christmas but I just can't get into it. It just doesn't seem right putting on Christmas music, and getting out a cup of cocoa when you have the A/C on 72 and people are walking around in shorts, tank tops and flip flops and I could easily go out in the backyard and get a great tan. Everyone who knows me knows I'm not fond of hot weather even in the summer, so this has just really been cruddy. Ok, well enough of the sound off. As far as Christmas shopping goes, I had a wonderful time. I headed to Super Target (awesome), Hastings, Walmart, Ross, Lowes, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. It was fun fun fun! I can't wait for Christmas morning....maybe by then I'll be able to put on a long sleeve shirt?

A breath of fresh air

They aren't begging to get in. Ava has just had a thing lately with knocking on walls and doors so they were doing that on the back door.

We have been taking advantage of the nice morning weather and heading out in the backyard this week. Usually our grass is so wet in the morning that its not really possible to play in the yard, but lately it's been drier so we have been out. It's getting easier to do that since Ava is walking now. She is always so proud of herself when she walks somewhere and looks at us when she gets to her destination as if to say "Aren't you going to clap?" This morning she said her first "sentence." A few seconds after Shawn walked out the door she waved at the door and said "Bye bye Dada." It was SO cute!

Walking

Here's Ava walking. In the last few days she has really taken off. She loves to walk and pitches a fit if we hold her out in public. Makes for an interesting church service.
