Camping Out and Camping Inn

After coming back from the Ladies Day, we turned right back around and had more events!  While at our Young Ladies Weekend, Shawn took the other two kids camping with some friends.  I was so very sad to miss this, but this girls weekend was much needed and such an encouragement to all of us.

Funny story about this picture.  Shawn told BOTH kids to pack a jacket and wouldn't you know...neither did.  So a friend had a girls jacket for Levi to borrow....he had no idea it was pink until the next morning when he woke up in the tent, turned over and saw the jacket, looked at Shawn and said "Tell me that is not pink."  lol!

Tent Sweet Tent

On Sunday, Elle and I met the other Cadette Girl Scouts for a sleep inn....we worked on a badge and somehow swung it so that the girls cooked a gourmet meal and we all got to spend the night in the Sweet Lemon Inn here in town.  The woman that owns the Inn/Restaurant has a daughter in our troop and was gracious enough to let us have the place on Sunday night!  It was such a wonderful retreat!  Here are a few pics from the night.
I just loved this painting.

Here is Mrs. Rachel giving them a kitchen safety lesson before they got started.

The girls made a kale and sausage soup, a special salad, and paninis for dinner.  We followed it up with Scottish shortbread.  It was all wonderful!

Here's to Troop 572!

Moving Mountains

We started our long weekend with me taking our middle school girls to a Young Ladies Day in San Marcus.  The theme was moving mountains, taken from Matthew 17:20.  Anything about mountains has my attention.

One of the first activities was to write something that hinders our faith on a balloon and something that can help our faith on another balloon.

Then they divided the room and had the girls start trying to throw the hinder balloons across the room and keep the helping balloons.  It was fun to watch all those balloons go!

I love this group of girls!

After lunch on Saturday when we were heading home, I HAD to stop at Krispy Kreme and let the girls experience this deliciousness for themselves!

The epitome of teen girls!

So very thankful to be able to work with these girls.  Thankful that these are Elle's friends!
