Botox

Botox is just about the only way you'll be able to watch this video without crinkling your eyebrows. On a side note, if you are a grandparent watching this, this is Levi's emotional state when I tell him that you aren't here right now!!!! Better get in the car and get here quick!

Interview with a First Grader

Mrs. Glenn and love her choice in shoes!

Ava helping make cookies for big sis.

She picked the biggest one...smart girl!

Today went so much better than last year, at least as far as anxieties go. We were all so much more at ease and really it was just another day of school today. Elle didn't act one bit nervous though she did want me to hold her hand all the way to class. I'm still needed!!! Anyway, she likes her teacher and has a lot of new faces in this class. She only has 2-3 kids from last years class in this one. I'm pretty sure that Mrs. Glenn is going to push her pretty hard this year and that's exactly what Elle could use. It will be interesting to see just how much she matures during this school year. After sending her off this morning, Ava and I made the now traditional 1st day of school cookies. Well, mostly I made them and Ava ate the decorations that were suppose to go on the cookies. Oh well, it made clean up pretty easy. Enjoy the interview with Elle.

August Uggh

I am not in the mood lately to blog, take pictures, or scrapbook. Maybe the heat has dried up every last bit of my creativity. I don't like feeling this way, but I just can't barely bring myself to do all the things I usually love. I am interrupted about every 3 minutes during the day and by the evening, I'm pretty much brain dead. I am feeling pretty overwhelmed with the little things right now, though I am still loving daily life. It's such a contradiction of feelings, but all I know is that I feel guilty and at the same time apathetic to the fact that I'm not being creative in my usual outlets. I'm sure things will pick back up when Elle is in school during the day and I'm down to two kids. Hopefully my energy will pick back up and my desire to blog, click, and scrap will begin to come back. Until then, it all just keeps piling up and I just keep ignoring it...or maybe I'm just living in the moment? Who knows. Enjoy this cute picture I snapped of my sweeties the other day. Elle starts school Monday and we are all ready! We met her teacher today and liked her. I will say I was taken back by how much more serious 1st grade is than Kinder was. No naps, no snacks, and centers on Friday only. All I can hope for is that this teacher continues to instill a passion for learning in Elle and that Elle enjoys school. I'm pretty sure Ava is going to have severe withdrawals. Any ideas on how to structure her day since she has a VERY hard time doing things independently? Okay, I think laundry is ready to be moved along and then bedtime! Enjoy the weekend.

4 months old

Today, Levi had his 4 month check-up and shots. He turned 4 months on Sunday and is such a wonderful baby! He has changed so so so much in the last month! He now weighs 13 lbs 3.5 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. The dr. asked if he was rolling over and I told her that he had only done it once a while back and she laid him on the table and he rolled right over. We just all started laughing! He is such a wonderful baby. The words we use to describe him are: chubby cheeks, cute, sweet, laid back, easy going, chilled out, happy, cute, cute, oh and cute. Everyone that sees him says the exact same thing..."He looks just like Ava." I tend to agree that he's pretty close. He rarely ever cries and has figured out how to splash when he takes a bath, which he L O V E S! He will turn his head almost 180 degrees to see the TV so we are leaving it off more often now...if not, he would watch it nonstop. He also loves his activity mat and as soon as we lay him on it, he shoots his arms out straight, points his toes, purses his lips and when the sounds and lights begin, he starts squealing! It is the cutest thing :) He loves to cuddle and loves for me to put him to bed. He gets passed around a lot at church and doesn't seem a bit bothered by it as long as he has someone to love on him. I am so thankful for all of his little attributes and he just completes are family so well!

What a Burger!

Last week Whataburger was celebrating a birthday...etc etc etc...free food if you wear orange! That's all I needed to hear. We all decked ourselves out in orange and headed to the W. It didn't look to crowded from the parking lot, but my lands! it was crazy when we got inside. There was orange everywhere! You got a free Whataburger and then we got a few fries. Our meal was around $3.50 for all of us to eat! Woo hoo! Of course then we headed to Dairy Queen right next door and lost all we had saved by getting Blizzards.

Grandparents are Grand!

This month we have had the treat of both my parents and Shawn's dad and his wife coming to visit us! It is so wonderful when we get to have them here. We love to watch how excited our girls are and love to show off sweet Levi. First, my parents came in to celebrate my birthday, since it's always during camp. We took them to our special creek in Salado. The weather was wonderful down there and we finally tore ourselves away as the sun went down. Birthday dinner at TXLC...and it hit the spot!

At the creek

Paul and Carolyn got to come down last weekend to see all of us and check on Levi :) They also were celebrating Ava's birthday since they will be traveling during her birthday. They stayed at a hotel with a pool and the girls LOVED that. They also took the girls to Target and let Ava pick out something special for her birthday. She also wanted to go to McDonalds for her birthday dinner.

I can say with both sets, the visit was too short as always. We all miss them already and wish we could just have them for a little longer!
