April Fool's Eve

Dinner tonite: Grilled cheese and tomato soup...This is NOT tomato soup.......and I am NOT impressed.So Ava wants to see what all the fuss is about....and decides that whatever it is, it's good! She slurps down the whole bowl! (shredded cheese and all!)Levi only got the "sandwich" and he seemed VERY happy with it.All smiles now as everyone figures out that we are getting to eat dessert first!!

Tomorrow is April Fools. And I love April Fools. I have so many funny ideas floating around in my head and have to really reign myself in and remember that my children don't always appreciate a joke, especially when it's on them. So, I'm biding my time until they are hitting puberty and already don't like me and then I'll really unleash my April 1st fury on them. For now, I keep it fun and silly and just a little annoying. I have learned one thing about April Fools with my kids. It's not really complete unless Elle gets mad. Year after year, I fool them with food and year after year, Elle gets angry at first. I think she takes after me. When I'm expecting on thing from my food and get another, it's not a pretty sight. Anyway, we have 1st Sunday tomorrow on the actual day of April Fools, and then we are headed out to a park at dinner time so it would be hard to fool them with food at the park or church, so I struck tonite :) We had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner....or did we? It's actually pound cake with icing in between the layers, and vanilla yogurt tinted orangish. Both girls were definitely put off but since Elle acted upset, Ava of course acted like she loved it. And truthfully it was really yummy. Just hard on the taste buds when you're expecting savory and instead get sweet! It was a fun one and they were completely unaware that it was coming. Another April Fools for the books....until next year.....or maybe even tomorrow.

New Outdoor---scratch that---Indoor Wreath

Last night, I decided that I was going to get all crafty and make a new wreath for my front door. I had a Hobby Lobby gift card burning a hole in my pocket so out the door I headed. I had no idea what direction I was planning on going with the wreath so I just let inspiration hit me at the store. Quickly a plan came together in my head and I began the thrill of the hunt! I had the sketch swimming around in the crafty section of my head, which by the way also shares space with the over-the-top-perfectionistic-ideas part of my brain. Makes for high standards sometimes! Anyway, I headed over to my crafty friends house and we got to work on wreaths, one for her, and one for me. Hers was done by about the time I had made one flower. HA! We are so much alike in so many ways, but it cracked me up to see how differently we work on crafts. She's a wham, bam, thank ya ma'am, and I'm slow and methodical and all planny. They both turned out so cute and I am VERY happy with this wreath. It is by far one of my favorite craft projects I've done in a long time! And, I think I also realized it's too pretty to put outside. If the sun didn't beat down directly on my door and the door was a little more protected from weather, I might consider putting it on the outside, but I think I like it so much I want to see it all the time!

Bluebonnets 2012

Other than Elle haven't one small total freakout/meltdown about an itsy bitsy bug in the flowers, all went well and we were done in record time. And we found this patch in the field across the street so even better!

One word, "Candy" made all these smiles. I'm not above bribery when it comes to photos.

Levi-23 1/2 months

How can I ever get on to this face? How can I ever be upset with him? He has me in a trance. Oh and I have less than two weeks until he's TWO! Where did the second year go? Aren't I suppose to be getting ready for his FIRST birthday?

I mustache you a question.

Nothing makes for an easier photo session prop, than a package of mustaches. Greatness!

Spring Break Part 2

After Lubbock, we took the L O N G road to Tyler. But we had a lot to look forward to in Tyler so it made it seem a little easier. Actually the kids did WONDERFUL on both long portions of driving. It was the drive from Tyler back to our home, only 3 1/2 hours that was the worst for all of them. Go figure. Anyway, while in Tyler, we went to the zoo, Levi's 1st time, and really almost Ava's 1st time because she was so little the last time we went. Levi's favorite two things at the zoo were the really big turtles and the ATV vehicles that the zoo staff used. Shawn also took the girls to see The Lorax. I really wanted to go, but it was Levi's naptime and all the grandparents still work, so I chilled out at the house...and I can't complain because I got a few hours of quiet to myself. Thursday, we got to meet little Grayson, my brother's son. I got the privilege of doing a sweet photo shoot of him. I only wish I had had more of my props because he was a nice sleepy baby and didn't mind being moved around a lot. I wanted to snuggle him the whole time because he mostly slept and barely made a peep. I am very excited for what Christmas is going to be like this year with my family....lots of little kiddos!

Spring Break Part 1

I so pretty.

This was one of the most fun things at the SS. You stood in front of the screen and after a few seconds a big flash would happen and then your image/silhouette would be burned onto the back screen. We had a lot of fun with this one!

What's great about this shot, is that Levi's feet are a good 6 inches off the ground. He was hanging in mid air as he played in the water. This was a GREAT activity for him!

Sweet baby Ivy

It seems like we took a bit of a tour of Texas over Spring Break this year. Our goal was to meet our newest niece and newest nephew and spend time with family. Mission accomplished! We started by heading to Lubbock to meet sweet Ivy Noel, Shawn's brother's daughter. While there we also spent time at the Science Spectrum, which ate up all of Saturday, a wet, frigid, and windy day in Lubbock. It was the perfect activity for us. Sunday we did a lot of chilling out, which was really nice, and then headed for Tyler on Monday, for Part 2 of our Spring Break. It was wonderful to just have some nice simple time with Chad and Lesley and their TWO kids :)
