This year we broke from our normal tradition sort of. Times are a changin'. If you have kids that are 12 and over, you understand....we are entering a new phase in our family. Elle continues to spread her wings a little more every week and want to do something differently than we've always done it. It's a little bit painful for us, and a little bit exciting. We are beginning that move towards full independence. With that being said, this was the first year that she wanted to go trick or treating with her friends. We allowed her to go on one condition....we would be one house behind her and she needed to be able to see us! It worked out great though Ava and Levi seemed a little lost without their leader. We still racked in the candy big time and even had time to hand out candy to other trick or treaters!
Our year picture with a Brownie Girl Scout, Little Red Riding Hood, Darth Vader, a Storm Trooper and a retro Ghost in the back!
Elle and her friends who thankfully weren't too cool to hand out near us and take a picture!
Our kids and one of Elle's friends handing out candy.
Time to check out the haul. Ava counted and had 162 pieces (and that was after eating a few.)

Elles dress is so cute...forgot to get her to put it on! Others are sweet too and love the pics of Halloween and of the camping trip!
