Powder Puff Derby

The Girl Scouts in our area do a Powder Puff Derby race every Spring.  This year was our second year to enter.  This is an event that I give over completely to Shawn.  Pretty much my only job is to take pictures at the race.

 

First was Elle's car which she named "Mint Lightning."

Ava's car was named "Your Worst Nightmare."  (I laugh everytime I say the name of her car--that was all her idea.)

Here's a lineup of all the cars that were going to race.  There were different groups depending on age and there were even some races just for Dads with no rules and some for families too.

We started with Ava's race.  The cars were impossible for me to capture in anything but a blur!  But I can tell you this; Ava's car was always first at the finish line!

She won First Place in the Daisy's for fastest car!!!

These were all the girls she competed against!

Here is everyone in the troop that participated.  That's a pretty good number and about half of the troop!

Then after lots and lots of waiting, it was time for Elle's race.

And there her blurry-imaged car is, a good car link ahead of all the rest, finishing first!

Here's a better non-blurry shot of one of the other races.  She also won first place in her division for fastest car and won a ribbon for "most classic car."  (We have no idea how that design is classic, but whatever.)

And here's both of the girls with medals and ribbons and trophies!  Awesome job!! Can't wait till next year!
