A Road Trip

So Shawn's sister Emily had the great idea that we should just hop on over to Searcy and see them while we were in town during Christmas. Since we were going to need to stay in Tyler until the first, for a wedding, we thought it would be a great idea. We hadn't been to their house since they became dorm parents at Harding quite a few years ago. We decided not to tell the girls at all where we were going. We just packed up the next morning, which they didn't even realize we had done until a few hours into the trip. At one point, Elle said "Hey! I just saw a sign about Arkansas!!!" I just said "Really? I didn't" and then I heard Ava say "We can't be in Arkansas. That's way too far away." At that point Elle dropped it. I secretly giggled with delight! Anyway, finally after 5 long hours on the road, we pulled up to the dorm and both girls thought we were at a hotel and that that was the surprise....until they saw little girls standing on the porch waving. As we pulled right up to the door, the girls jumped out and then recognized that it was cousin Riley and Josey!!! They screamed and ran to them and hugged them! We had somehow pulled off the surprise completely! It was awesome!!! We had the best time while we were there! Here's a few pictures of our favorite memories!

The campus was all lit up with lights hanging from trees. It was absolutely magical looking. This picture is so great....thanks Joey for taking it!

The 2nd night we were there, Emily pulled out a whole thing of glow sticks and gave everyone a few and they put them on and we walked around campus in the dark waving the glowsticks. Fun memories.

This was waiting for us upon arrival and all of us thought it was the coolest thing! The kids had more fun on this than just about anything!

We also had the entire dorm to ourselves so we rode scooters up and down the hallways, rode Barbie Jeeps and bikes in the lobby and just went wild in general. Thanks so much to Joey and Emily for being such great hosts and making us so comfortable!
