Well, in a week or two we will have lived in the Austin area for six years! That's so exciting for a minister to say! Until this job, the longest we had stayed anywhere since college was three years so this is awesome! With that being said, we had never gone to Barton Springs to swim in that six years. If you've ever lived here, you know it's just something that you HAVE to try at least once. So we took advantage of the fact that yesterday was the girls' last day at day camp and found a babysitter for the morning for Levi, and headed that way! Barton Springs stays at 68 degrees all year long. It was EXHILARATING to say the least. It took our breath away and definitely invigorated us! It was a lot of fun. We took our snorkel masks and went up and down the springs looking at the fish. Such a cool and cheap date. Then we headed to one of our favorite taco trailers and topped it off with our favorite dessert trailer. We shared a donut called the Funky Monkey which had cream cheese icing topped with banana slices that had been sauteed in brown sugar. DELICIOUS!!
