Moore, OK Mission Trip

We went with a group of people from church this past week, up to Moore, OK where tornadoes struck in late May.  Our goal was to be useful in any way we could be.  We worked for 3 days with 2 days of traveling.  It was a wonderful and very fulfilling trip and I'm so thankful we were able to go.  I had been worried about how our three kids would do, but they did absolutely great considering the circumstances...it wasn't exactly kid friendly.  Here are a few pictures from our time there.

Got right to work Sunday afternoon transporting items from the building to a portal that would serve the communities as needed.

After worship Sunday night, we headed out to see the actual destruction...it was unbelievable...this WAS a neighborhood but all that is left is the storm shelters.

Someones life reduced down to a pile of trash with personal pictures strewn everywhere.

Monday morning bright and early, we headed back to the neighborhood to help one of the members of the church finish clearing his lot.

Views in the city...all trash/debris/etc had to be at the curb by August 15th if you wanted to city to cart it off.

Last afternoon there, we installed the posts to begin rebuilding a fence...not bad for no one having experience!
